We’re following along with the Faith in Kids podcast in Ephesians.
Ephesians #5 ONE BODY
Ed, Jam and Amy are back with more fun facts about hearts, teeth and lungs, fighting the virus, music and the whiparound question gets seriously out of hand. Well, out of foot. We’re back with Ephesians 4:1-6, 15-16, finding out how we’re all together in Christ.
Planning when to do this
Hopefully you’ve getting into the swing of things now. For more thoughts on how and when to use these ideas, see last week’s intro here.

CRAFT IDEAS
There are three ideas below, including a colouring sheet, a craft activity and a game.
Use the crafts and colouring sheets while you listen to the podcast (make sure you’ve got the materials you need first!). And use them to reinforce the teaching ideas.
The printable sheet for this week is here.
All the instructions below are also included on the sheet – if you’d prefer just to hit print and then stop looking at screen, go ahead!

Idea 1 – Prayer Pot
We are all part of the Body of Christ – we all need each other.
Make a Prayer Pot. Find an empty pot/container/flower pot. Print and colour the people on page 2 of the printable sheet and cut into two strips. Join the strips together to form one long band that you can use to attach around the outside of your Prayer Pot.
Think of people in your church family who you could ask Jesus to help, comfort, strengthen. Who could you give thanks and praise for? All these people are valuable members of the body of Christ.
Write their names on lollysticks/plant markers/strips of card and fill your pot.
Each day you and your family could each take a stick from the pot and think about those people and pray for them together.
Maybe you could make a card to send to someone, or ring them, to let them know you’re thinking of them and praying for them.
Maybe you could drop some cakes or flowers round to their house…
Idea 2 – Sandwich
reallWe are all part of the Body of Christ – take a look in the Bible at 1 Corinthians 12 v 27.
We all need each other and when one part is missing, then the whole body feels it, things aren’t right……
Pair up with someone else in your family and work together to make a sandwich – BUT – YOU CAN EACH ONLY USE ONE HAND!!
If you’re feeling really brave (and have flour!), you could try making one-handed cupcakes together ……… don’t forget the washing-up!
Idea 3 – Body Building Game
Print and cut out the figure on page 4 of the printable sheet, then carefully cut into separate pieces as on page 5. You may want to print and cut two sets if you want to play in teams. Each team rolls their dice to see which bit of body to add next. If a piece is already in place, then miss a go. The team that completes their body first is the winner!
